Unless you are one of the few who has a specially manufactured vehicle that runs on canola oil, pork fat, or ethanol, you are probably like the rest looking for some cheap gas. The sad reality lies in the fact that these days you are purchasing gasoline at mini bar prices and there is no end to this trend in sight. While the finger pointing seems to go round and round, the reality remains that gas is a necessity and that most consumers will pay whatever it takes to put that fuel into the cars they drive. Yet many drivers have seriously curtailed their driving activities, and some have made the search to find cheap gas a quest that has become legendary.
Take for example the websites that report the cheap gas range of prices in your particular zip code. Dedicated drivers email or phone in gas prices so that other drivers will know where to purchase gas at prices that will not break their banks as quickly as a fill up at the regular station down the street - generally speaking, the price difference is usually only about one to five cents. To find cheap gas prices, surfing the ‘Net is but one aspect of the hunt for the dedicated driver. Others will make good use of temporarily lowered gas prices by setting up a storage facility in their garden sheds. It is not unusual to find a shed with ten or more gasoline containers that are filled up to the highest possible level in an effort to ensure that the next gas price hike will not make driving impossible. Yet for those who neither have a garden shed nor want to go through the dangerous process of storing a flammable liquid in their homes, there is another option to reap the benefits of cheap gas prices: travel! Those residents located in border towns know that sometimes it is quite worthwhile to cross the state’s or even the country’s border in an effort to find a cheaper gas pump on the other side. While this may only work for a few of the more enterprising drivers, they most certainly do the best they can to partake of this opportunity. Those living further away from the borders follow their own set of rules; for example, did you know that gasoline at Interstate on- and off-ramps is always more expensive? It is true! Additionally, did you know that generic gas and brand name gas have the same composition? It is true! So go ahead and look for a non-name station that offers gas at deep discounts.
