Today it is so easy to find cheap Internet access. Yet do you remember that just a few short years ago the cheap Internet access was there, but one had to put up with a whole lot of advertising to get there. For example, the good old days of dial up Internet access were marred with bars that needed to be downloaded and which in today’s terms would be considered nothing short of spyware and adware. For example, who could forget the old Bluelight Internet access that was hosted by the retailer who is famous for the blue light specials? At first it was a great free alternative to the other Internet service providers who suddenly started charging for access to their on-ramps to the Internet.
Yet within a few short months the amount of hours that a user could peruse the Internet via access with this service provider was cut down and suddenly you had to cram your entire web surfing into 20 short hours each week. Thereafter, the company must have found that there was no profitability in this service either, because just a suddenly as it had appeared it disappeared. Of course, today’s Internet access is done via DSL or even the now available faster options. Dial up has become a thing of the past and only very few providers are still earnestly offering it. It does not matter if you are accessing your ‘Net from America or Australia, there are cheap Internet providers in the UK and there are also cheap internet providers in Sweden. The ‘Net has truly become the information super highway it was always intended to become, and speed is now the new name of the game. While it is becoming hard to stay abreast of the latest Internet access innovations, it does appear that instead of a logical progression of speedy access there are suddenly a number of innovations branching out from the dial up mode. Perhaps this is a bit disheartening for the ‘Net novice, but if you take a bit of time to read through the literature and perhaps even read up on the subject on newbie guides, you will find that it is not that hard to gin a quite comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Once you do understand where Internet access has been and where it is hading, it is a lot easier to decide which kind of service you will need so that your basic surfing needs will be met with speed and a minimum of headaches.
